Just declaring a thing to be true does not make it so. The Giggle managed a 38.8% market share, and performed better on every single metric than "The Power of the Doctor. " So, it being the "least watched special ever" is NOT a fact.

Further, the numbers DID grow. "The Church on Ruby Road" managed a 7.49m viewership and a 41.4% audience share. Whether these numbers will hold is a different question - we won't know until Monday what the actual consolidated figures are for last week's episodes, which is important as the BBC changed its release strategy, and viewers in the UK were able to watch them early through streaming (which will cannibalize at least some, if not a lot, of the overnight figures). If it follows the usual trend for every single season since the reboot there will be a gradual drop-off until the season finale, and then an increase for the start of the next season.

Finally, I didn't measure the audience appreciation at all. It is calculated by the BBC as part of an online audience survey. They asked viewers if they liked the episode, and the viewers responded.

You are absolutely entitled to your own opinion. You are NOT entitled to your own facts. If you're going to claim that something is a failure, you need to be able to back it up with consolidated ratings information.
